Welcome to Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! I am Meredith Flynn – writer, mum and Novocastrian.
I’m the Flynn part of the WhelanFlynn media empire freelance writing partnership. The Whelan part is Susan Whelan, you can follow her on twitter at @ReadUpsideDown and read her blog Reading Upside Down. We’ve known eachother for over a quarter of a century. Learn more about our partnership here. We have found that it is the differences in our personalities and beliefs that make our friendship work, otherwise we would have killed eachother years ago. Together and individually we have written for suite101.com and BYO Kids.com online as well as Business Mums’ Network , Show Mummy the Money and Sunny Days magazines. Keep the Table Laughing, our cookbook with a “twist”, was published in 2005.
I live in beautiful Newcastle NSW with my husband and our two children. Before children I worked long and hard as a travel consultant with Flight Centre, which satisfied my wanderlust for many years. Kids and bills and mortgage and life have curbed my travels somewhat, but someday I will head off again. Oh the Places I’ll Go!
I adore my family, my friends, my pets and my food. I am an avid reader with a degree in German and English literature – and yes, my favourite author is Dr Seuss. I am also deeply infatuated with my television.
